Louisa Strayhorn to Receive National Urban League Mollie Moon Award Recipient

Congratulations to FOHTA’s very own Louisa Strayhorn!

July 2012 (Portsmouth, VA)—The Urban League of Hampton Roads is pleased to announce that Louisa Strayhorn, Urban League Board Member and President of LSA Consulting has been named the 2012 National Urban League Mollie Moon award winner!

This award is presented to an individual that exemplifies commitment to the community and the Urban League. Strayhorn was selected among finalist from across the country.
The 2012 Mollie Moon award will be presented at the National Council of Urban League Guilds Leadership Luncheon and Guild Awards on July 27 in New Orleans, Louisiana, as part of the National Urban League Conference.

“Our Guild today is performing at a high level with projects providing local and statewide opportunities for education, civic participation and leadership development. As a board member, Louisa has not been one to sit on the sidelines and watch things happen. She has been the wind beneath the wings of the Urban League of Hampton Roads for more than a decade. Her vision, leadership and service have helped propel organizational success.

Louisa is there when needed and readily says “yes” when asked to serve. When Louisa serves in any capacity, she leaves a lasting impression because of her eloquence, grace and kindness,” said Urban League of Hampton Roads President and CEO Edith White.
