What is FOHTA?

From One Hand To AnOTHER Inc. (FOHTA) is a 501(C)(3) Not for Profit Organization, established by Pharrell Williams in 2008 to provide educational S.T.E.A.M.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, and Motivation) related tools needed for the future success of children.

“To change the world one kid at a time by providing them the tools and resources to meet their unique potential.” – Pharrell

FOHTA began its community outreach with a school supply giveaway. Over the last 9 years, it has expanded from after school programs into a six-week summer camp program that reaches over 1,250 predominately at-risk and low-income students in grades two through eight.

FOHTA’s vision is to expand educational opportunities to empower our participants through fun, project-based learning; while inspiring curiosity and increasing their enthusiasm for learning.

This past year, we had the incredible opportunity to expand FOHTA’s six-week summer camps to 20 locations in 5 states. We look forward to increasing opportunities so that we will develop and encourage many more as part of FOHTA’s S.T.E.A.M.M. curriculum (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, and Motivation).

To nurture the importance of education by being academically centered, technologically advanced, and globally focused.

Beyond this year’s physical expansion, we are thrilled to announce that we will be incorporating coding into our curriculum. Coding is the language of technology and it teaches creative problem solving, collaboration, and critical thinking.
